Bettina Heise about the value of interdisciplinary research

Bettina Heise (pictured right) is head of the RECENDT research group for Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) and senior scientist at the JKU Linz.

In the February issue of the Optics and Photonic News (OPN) of the Optical Society (OSA), she talks about her work and her enthusiasm for research and gives tips for a successful scientific career.

Heise holds a doctorate from Johannes Kepler University Linz; her research interests include microscopic imaging techniques, programmable and computational optics, spectral and hyperspectral imaging and signal processing, as well as knowledge-based data analysis and machine learning.
