In March 2026 the new guideline VDI/VDE 5565 Part 2 “Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) – Signal Processing and Data Evaluation” was published. It addresses fundamental aspects of signal processing and data evaluation in OCT systems and supports users, manufacturers, and system integrators in the standardized use and description of this technology.
With Dr. Bettina Heise, head of OCT, RECENDT was actively involved in the development of this new guideline. With her expertise in the fields of OCT technology, signal processing, and industrial applications, she contributed valuable to the VDI/VDE technical committee.
RECENDT has already contributed to the standardization of innovative optical measurement technologies through its involvement in the VDI/VDE 5565 Part 1 guideline on the description of OCT methods, as well as in a VDI/VDE guideline on Terahertz systems (5590).
Thus, RECENDT helps making measurement methods such as OCT and THz technology practical, comparable, and suitable for the industrial use.
