Goal:

Under the consortium leadership of the Institute of Production Engineering and Photonic Technologies at TU Wien, we are working together with leading research organizations from Austria (JOANNEUM RESEARCH - MATERIALS, AIT Austrian Institute of Technology)  as well as with highly innovative SMEs and start-ups (Cerabyte, crystalsol, Daxner&Merl and EcoCan).

The purpose of the project is to develop photonic and optical technologies and make them available for industrial partners, in particular to improve laser-based surface structuring of large areas, while at the same time optimizing the consumption of energy, materials and other resources. The research results at RECENDT shall be used in future as an “Optical Reader” device to recognize extremely fine structures (on optical data storage devices).
