In the COMET Competence Centre "FFoQSI" scientific and strategic innovations are developed for plant- and animal-based foods, to ensure quality from field to plate.

The centre is funded within the framework of COMET - Competence Centres for Excellent Technologies by the Austrian Federal Ministries BMK, BMDW and the Federal Provinces of Lower Austria, Upper Austria and Vienna. The COMET programme is managed by the FFG.

As the first Austrian COMET centre dedicated to this area of research, FFoQSI has created a unique brand for food chain integration in Central Europe. It is located at the most important Austrian research site for agricultural sciences in Tulln, near Vienna, and counts more than 1000 scientists, enabling cooperation with already existing initiatives and partners beyond Austria's borders.
