New end-to-end digital framework for optimized manufacturing and maintenance of next generation aircraft composite structures
Project Information:
Goal:
The main goal of GENEX is to develop a novel end-to-end digital-twin-driven framework, providing a holistic approach covering the whole value chain of composite parts, from design, material, and manufacturing to operation, MRO, and EOL to support the next-generation digital aircraft transformation.
RECENDT will develop a tailored state-of-the-art Terahertz (THz) spectroscopic monitoring system. This system will be applied to estimate the degree of cure of 3R-resin tapes and the degree of crystallinity of thermoplastic tapes during automated tape layering (ATL) processes. It will be endowed with advanced multiphysics simulation, coupled with AI-based models, allowing to adapt ATL parameters and enable process control.
