Manufacturing processes in all industries can benefit greatly from the application of state-of-the-art inline sensor and process monitoring technologies. Nevertheless, knowledge and competence in these areas are not yet widespread, especially in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Large companies have their own research, development and technological innovation departments. SMEs have to rely on external expertise to integrate these current innovative approaches and solutions.

The goal of SINOPES is therefore to build a network of research institutions, industrial clusters and companies. In this network, all participants are invited to learn from each other. A jointly built knowledge base about potentially applicable solutions and external partners potentially available for support will enable further individual use of sensor technology and process monitoring.

The project focuses in particular on the areas of non-destructive testing (NDT) and process analytical technologies (PAT). Methods in these areas are to be presented and made accessible to companies in the programme area so that they can use them to optimise their production processes and manufacture more efficiently.
