Female Science

RECENDT actively supports increasing the number of women working in research, as women are still underrepresented in the Austrian research and technology landscape. They often face structural barriers by balancing family and career. RECENDT commits to reduce this imbalance and to create a working environment that supports individual lifestyles and equality. We understand equality as an integral part of our corporate culture: the commitment to fair framework conditions not only strengthens the personal and professional development of women but also contributes to more innovation and diversity within the company.

An important part of our corporate culture is our life-phase-oriented personnel policy. This enables especially women to flexibly adapt their careers to personal changes. For example flexible working time models, home office, mobile working, and individually tailored return-to-work concepts after maternity leave – also in management positions.

With these measures, RECENDT contributes to equal opportunities in research and to enable women to advance their professional development without disrupting their careers:

  • Individual, flexible working time models – also in management positions
  • Adapted working time models and mobile working opportunities and thus support for returning to work after maternity leave
  • Promotion of career paths through taking on responsibility in early stages and specific project management tasks
  • Creation of visibility and networking in the scientific community
  • Sustainable work-life balance

This is how we create an innovative, diverse working environment with genuine opportunities for development.

RECENDT nominated for "Frauenförderpreis 2025"

2025 RECENDT was nominated for the award "Upper Austria State Prize 2025 – Strong Women. Strong State." for the commitment of promoting women in research. We received the certificate from Ms. Christine Haberlander and Irene Moser (KOMPASS "Kompetenzzentrum für Karenz und Karriere").

The submitted project "life-phase-oriented work" demonstrates how RECENDT promotes equal opportunites. Flexible work models, individual return-to-work programs and the support of career possibilities for women - also in leaders positions - make it easier to balance family and career. This creates an innovative and diverse working environment with individual development opportunities.

diversity4innovation Award - Audience Award for Klarissa Meirer

Our colleague Klarissa Meirer was awarded the audience prize at the diversity4innovation Award 2025. The award was presented by Upper Austrian Governor Thomas Stelzer, Provincial Minister of Economic Affairs and Research Markus Achleitner, WKOÖ Director Gerald Silberhumer, and UAR Managing Director Wilfried Enzenhofer.

Klarissa Meirer stands for diversity in technology in practice – with a special focus on young talent. She passes on her knowledge (e.g., at the IAB Technik-Rallye) to young girls interested in STEM subjects and female researchers. Diversity is actively practiced at RECENDT – the best solutions are achieved through appreciation and different perspectives.

The diversity4innovation Award was presented for the first time at the Kepler Hall at JKU as part of the UAR's 25th anniversary celebrations and is intended to send a strong signal about the importance of diversity in research.
