Photonic Sensing for Smarter Processes
Facts and Figures
Goals
The aim of the K-project PSSP is to generate process knowledge with photonic methods which did not exist in this way before. The efficiency of production processes shall be significantly improved with these methods. Through specific research and development, photonic methods can be applied before, but also directly in the production line. With the gained knowledge the process parameters, material and resources can be optimized.

Results
In the research network PAC several benefits and successes could already be achieved. An overview on these success stories can be found here!
3 sources of financing
The funding for the PSSP-project comes from 3 sources:
one part is the in-kind - contribution from the scientific partners,
a major part of the costs is funded by the company partners, who contribute in form of cash and in-kind,
and an other major part is provided by public funding from the governments of Austria (BMK, BMDW), the Federal State of Upper Austria and the Federal State of Styria (represented by the “Steirische Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft m.b.H. - SFG“).
The project is set within the Competence Centers for Excellent Technologies Program COMET and is administered by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency FFG.
